<Mission of the internal audit team>
The role of Mercari's internal audit team is integral to enhancing the company's corporate value. It involves contributing to various aspects of the company's operation, including risk management, assessment of internal control activities, enhancing operational efficiency, and offering guidance on establishing internal control systems and rule creation.
Given that our business heavily relies on a variety of IT systems, including cloud computing, and as our operations continue to expand, the scope of IT system utilization is growing rapidly. Consequently, conducting IT system audits is crucial not only for ensuring healthy business growth but also from the perspective of adhering to legal compliance and regulatory requirements.

The specific duties that you will be responsible for as an internal auditor are as follows.
- Providing internal audit services to domestic and international group companies, various business locations, and specific departments.
- Carrying out operations related to J-SOX (Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance, which may include supporting documentation, management evaluations, and overall compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conducting internal audits within IT system development and operation domains and other related areas.
- Performing internal audits in conjunction with J-SOX compliance, pinpointing areas that require improvement, and proposing measures for enhancing these areas. Ensuring follow-up on the implementation of these improvements.
- Offering support to corporate auditors from individual group companies as needed.

Beyond conventional audit responsibilities, this role necessitates oversight of Mercari's fast-growing business and organization as a whole. It plays a pivotal role in ensuring the company's sustained and healthy growth. We are seeking candidates who align with the mission and values of the Mercari Group and its affiliated companies. Ideal candidates should have:
- Five or more years of experience in IT auditing, IT risk management, or cybersecurity, which could include practical experience, consulting experience, or related roles.
- Knowledge or practical experience in IT systems, with a specific focus on advanced technologies, including cloud computing and agile methodologies, especially concerning development, operation, and security.
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills to effectively evaluate risk management practices and internal control activities.
In addition to the qualifications and skills mentioned earlier, candidates with the following experiences and skills are highly desirable:
- Previous involvement in managing IT systems at publicly listed companies, e-commerce platforms, or fintech-related companies, including roles in IT risk management, IT security, and internal/external audits.
- Work experience in fintech businesses dealing with payment systems, credit services, blockchain, and other financial activities within financial institutions or auditing firms.
- Practical experience in fields related to personal information protection and ISMS (Information Security Management System).
- Possession of various system-related qualifications, such as a system audit engineer, CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), or similar credentials.
- Technical proficiency in data analysis and the use of SQL.
- Project management experience, including coordinating efforts across multiple departments and handling international projects.
- Previous experience as an external expert, providing services to publicly listed companies, as well as affiliated firms in the e-commerce or fintech sectors, as clients or collaborators.

Employment Status

The probationary period at our company lasts for the initial three months after joining. During this probationary period, your contract conditions will be identical to those of a permanent employee.
